Well after this morning's gentle warm up joining the lads for a utup, this longish AS was a bit tough.
I started in last place and basically stayed there all the way round. There were times when I could see the runner in front and times when I couldn't.
I think the long road section for the first mile or so, (you carried on further than the 3P's route) scuppered any chance of me keeping in shouting distance of any one other than the Marshals. They did a sterling job hanging about waiting for me in the awful weather.
Tarmac aside, I liked the route (http://www.settleharriers.org/penyghent_map.pdf) and will return another year to do it more justice.
