This Morning’s Run – Sat 8th September

A few snaps from this morning.  Runners were JtE, EtU, T’Y and me.  Below is the view from Two Lads as you all know, the summit of Winter Hill is the highest point of the West Pennine moors at 1.496ft and that's exactly where the cloud base was this morning at about 9.00am.   If you look closely you can see the four anchor points at cloud level.

Looking across to Drinkwaters from the flagged path to the stile below Great Hill – sunshine and blue sky beginning to emerge

Having stopped for a few snaps, I was able to sneak up on JtE and T’Y at the shelter on Gt Hill

Round Loaf from Drinkwaters

Great morning on the hills in good company.  EtU turned for home from Spittlers, the three remaining completed just over twelve miles.

Whilst out we chatted to a very nice couple who have moved to the area from the Isle of Man.  T’Y and I invited them to join us for a Sat outing and show them the local paths.  They may or may not turn up at UTUP next Sat, I’ll be in the Lakes (Three Shires) watching some runners.  Could anyone out next week look out for them and introduce yourselves.   Bear in mind we don’t want to scare them off!
